The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has opened its portal for full-time job applications across four paramilitary bodies: the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
If you’ve ever considered a job in national security or public safety, now’s your chance. This round of recruitment covers entry-level roles through to top professional positions. But here’s the thing — you can only apply to one agency. Double entries? You’re out.

Positions Available Across Three Main Cadres
Superintendent Cadre (Category A)
1. Superintendent of Corrections (Medical Doctors) – For NCOS only
- Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) required.
- Grade: CONMESS 02.
2. Assistant Superintendent I – For FFS only
- Requires a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Water) or Law (LL.B or LLM).
- Grade: CONPASS 09.
3. Assistant Superintendent II – Available in NIS, FFS, NSCDC
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma from a recognised school.
- Grade: CONPASS 08.
Inspectorate Cadre (Category B)
1. Inspector – For NCOS, FFS, NSCDC
- Must be a registered Nurse, Midwife, or both.
- Grade: CONHESS 06.
2. Assistant Inspector
- Must have an NCE or National Diploma from a recognised institution.
- Grade: CONPASS 06.
Assistant Cadre (Category C)
1. Assistant II – General Duty
- GCE O’Level, SSCE, NECO or equivalent with at least five credits (including Maths and English) in no more than two sittings.
- Or Trade Test Grade II in fields like auto mechanics or electrical.
- Grade: CONPASS 04.
2. Assistant III – Drivers, Operators, Artisans
- Same as above but requires four credits or Trade Test Grade III.
- Grade: CONPASS 03.
What You Need to Qualify
Before applying, make sure you meet these basic rules:
- You must be Nigerian by birth.
- You need to have the correct qualifications. Any certificate not shown during the recruitment won’t be accepted later.
- You must be physically and mentally sound, with proof from a government hospital.
- You should be of good behaviour, with no criminal record or past involvement in cults, drugs or fraud.
- Age must be between 18 and 35.
- Height: at least 1.65m for men and 1.60m for women.
- Men must have a chest measurement of at least 0.87m.
- Knowing how to use a computer will help your chances.
