FUGUS Announces Shortlisted Students for Education Loan

The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has released its postgraduate admission form for the 2025/2026 session. Whether you want to pursue a PGD, a master’s, or a PhD, the school offers a range of options across different fields.

Here’s the lowdown.

What Courses Are Available?

FUGUS offers postgraduate programmes in four main faculties.

Faculty of Education

• M.Ed. Educational Management
• M.Ed. Psychology
• M.Sc. Ed. Mathematics
• M.Sc. Ed. Science Education
• M.Ed. Guidance and Counselling
• M.Ed. Research, Measurement and Evaluation
• M.Ed. Sociology of Education
• PGDE
• PhD in areas like Education Management, Psychology, Maths Education, Science Education, and more

Faculty of Humanities

• MA and PhD in Arabic Language and Literature
• MA and PhD in Islamic Studies
• MA and PhD in Hausa Studies
• MA and PhD in English Language
• MA and PhD in History and International Studies

Faculty of Sciences

• MSc and PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Zoology, Plant Science
• PGD in Biochemistry, Computer Science, Microbiology, and Biological Science

Faculty of Management and Social Sciences

• MSc in Business Admin, Public Admin, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Accounting and Finance
• MBA, MPA, and Masters in International Politics and Diplomacy
• PGD in Business Admin, Public Admin, and Accounting & Finance
• PhD in Business Admin and Sociology

Who Can Apply?

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

You must:

• Have at least five credits including Maths and English
• Hold a first degree with a third-class or better
• Or have a relevant HND with a pass or above

Study time:

• 12 to 18 months full-time
• 18 to 24 months part-time

Master’s Degree

You must:

• Meet the basic entry requirements with credit passes in English and Maths
• Hold a second-class lower degree or better
• Some courses accept third-class or HND holders with a PGD and CGPA of 3.0/5.0

Study time:

• 18 to 24 months full-time
• 24 to 36 months part-time

PhD Programmes

You must:

• Hold a master’s with a CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 5-point scale

Study time:

• 24 to 48 months full-time
• 48 to 60 months part-time

How to Apply

Here’s a simple guide:

1. Go to the FUGUS Postgraduate Portal
2. Create an invoice for ₦15,000
3. Pay through any bank or online
4. Use your RRR number as both your username and password
5. Fill out the form and submit
6. Keep checking your profile for updates
