LUTH Post-Basic Nursing Admission Form 2025/2026

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) has opened admission for its Post Basic Nursing programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. These one-year specialist courses train registered nurses to deliver expert care in various clinical areas.

LUTH’s Post Basic Nursing School is over 50 years old and known for its strong pass rates in national nursing exams. It has produced more than 3,000 skilled nurses across Nigeria.

Choose from seven specialist nursing programmes

You can apply for any of the following one-year Post Basic Nursing programmes:

1. Perioperative Nursing
2. Accident and Emergency Nursing
3. Paediatrics Nursing
4. Ophthalmic Nursing
5. Neonatal Nursing
6. Nephrology Nursing
7. Critical Care Nursing

Each course blends classroom lessons with practical training to prepare nurses for specialist roles in hospitals and clinics.

Check the admission requirements

To qualify for any of the Post Basic Nursing programmes, you must:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) qualification
• Have five O’level credits, including:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
    
    (Plus Physics and Chemistry for those who qualified from 2006 onwards)
• Hold a current practising licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
• Have at least one year of post-RN work experience

Follow the steps to apply online

To submit your application, follow these instructions:

1. Visit the LUTH portal: luth.gov.ng/schools
2. Choose your preferred Post Basic Nursing programme
3. Fill the Account Creation Form using correct personal details and a working email
4. Check your inbox for login information
5. If ready to pay, click MAKE PAYMENT and follow the steps on Remita
6. Use the RRR code provided to pay the ₦10,000 application fee
7. Log in at luth.gov.ng/profile to complete your application form
8. Print your application bio-data, sent to your email – this is required for the entrance exam

Apply before the deadline

Applications will close 12 weeks from the publication date. Apply early to allow time for processing and preparation for the entrance test.
