Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has announced a large-scale recruitment for both academic and non-academic positions. The call covers over 200 roles, with ranks ranging from Graduate Assistant to Professor across various faculties, including Engineering, Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture, and Management.

The university is also looking to fill several non-teaching positions in admin, ICT, research, health services, and technical units. If you have the right qualifications and experience, this might be your chance to join one of Nigeria’s first-generation federal universities.

Academic Roles

OAU is recruiting across multiple departments. A few examples include:

  • Professors, Readers, and Senior Lecturers in fields such as Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Nursing, Animal Sciences, and more
  • Lecturer I and II positions in areas including Computer Science, Agricultural Extension, Medical Microbiology, Soil Science, and Business Law
  • Assistant Lecturers and Graduate Assistants in subjects like Physics, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Public Health, and Botany

Salaries range from ₦2.3 million to ₦9.4 million per year, depending on the role and rank.

Non-Academic Roles

The university also needs staff in support roles. Openings include:

  • Admin and Planning Officers
  • ICT Professionals (Web developers, Network Admins, Programmers)
  • Medical and Health Staff (Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses, Lab Scientists)
  • Technicians and Technologists
  • Library and Clerical Support
  • Farm and Agricultural Officers
  • Sports and Editorial Staff
  • Finance and Audit Officers

Most of these jobs fall within the ₦1.1 million to ₦3.5 million annual salary band, depending on level and responsibility.
