UNILAG has announced dates and details for its DLI residential programme and exams for the 2024/2025 session. This guide covers student arrival, course registration, exam dates and what to bring.

UNILAG DLI Residential Programme and Exam Dates Announced

The University of Lagos has released the full schedule for the 2024/2025 Distance Learning Institute (DLI) residential programme. The six-week programme will run from Sunday, 7 September to Saturday, 18 October 2025. It covers both academic work and final examinations for all DLI students.

Below is a breakdown of what to expect, when to arrive and what to prepare.

Key Arrival Dates and Schedule

Year 3 to 5 Students

  • Arrival: Sunday, 7 September 2025
  • Lecture mop-up: Tuesday, 9 September to Saturday, 13 September
  • GST exams: Saturday, 13 September
  • Main exams begin: Monday, 15 September
  • Exams end: Saturday, 27 September
  • Hostel exit: Saturday, 27 September

Year 1 and 2 Students

  • Arrival: Sunday, 28 September 2025
  • Lecture mop-up: Monday, 29 September to Saturday, 4 October
  • GST exams: Friday, 3 and Saturday, 4 October
  • Main exams begin: Monday, 6 October
  • Exams end and hostel exit: Saturday, 18 October

What to Bring on Arrival

All students must report to their assigned hostels with:

  • Proof of full payment of the current session’s service charge
  • Two printed copies of their accommodation slip
  • Medical registration confirmation from the UNILAG Medical Centre

Course Registration and Payments

To sit for exams, students must:

  • Pay all fees by Monday, 1 September 2025 (for Year 3–5) and Monday, 22 September 2025 (for Year 1 & 2)
  • Complete course registration by Friday, 5 September (for Year 3–5) and Friday, 26 September (for Year 1 & 2)
  • Final date to add or drop courses is Wednesday, 10 September (Year 3–5) and Tuesday, 30 September (Year 1 & 2)

No changes will be allowed after these deadlines.

Exam Dockets and Passport Photos

Each student must:

  • Bring one recent passport photo for every course registered
  • Print their exam docket between 8 and 12 September (Year 3–5) or 29 September to 2 October (Year 1 & 2)

Project Defence for Final Year Students

Defence of research projects will run from Saturday, 28 June to Saturday, 26 July 2025.

Only fully registered students will be allowed to sit for exams. No shortcuts.

THE DISTANCE LEARNING INSTITUTE (DLI) MANAGEMENT APPEALS TO EMPLOYERS TO KINDLY RELEASE THEIR RESPECTIVE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE DLI STUDENTS. THIS IS TO ENABLE THEM PARTICIPATE IN THE FORTHCOMING RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME, DURING WHICH THE 2024/2025 SESSIONAL EXAMINATION WILL BE CONDUCTED.
