UNILORIN earns full NUC accreditation for 36 academic courses

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 36 out of the 37 academic programmes it submitted. The only course given interim accreditation was Hausa. No programme was denied approval.

This result followed the NUC accreditation exercise held in October and November 2024. The official report was shared in a letter dated 30 April 2025, addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, said the news brought joy and pride to the university community. In a statement shared by the university’s spokesperson, Mr Kunle Akogun, he thanked all staff involved.

He praised the Provost, Deans, Heads of Departments, and teaching staff for their efforts, saying the result shows the value of the university’s investment in both people and materials.

The university has promised to continue improving and working toward even better results in future accreditation exercises.
