FUDMA Gets Full NUC Accreditation for 19 Academic Programmes

Federal University Dutsin-Ma has secured full accreditation for 19 academic programmes after the National Universities Commission accreditation exercise held in October and November 2025.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Khalid Othman, announced the result during the university’s 139th Regular Senate Meeting on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. He said NUC assessed 30 programmes across the university’s faculties, with 19 programmes gaining full accreditation and 11 programmes receiving interim accreditation status.

FUDMA NUC Accreditation Outcome

Professor Othman said the accreditation result reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance and service to the community.

For students, staff and departments affected by the review, the result gives a clear picture of where each programme stands after the NUC team completed its assessment; 19 programmes received full approval, while the remaining 11 will continue under interim status.

Vice Chancellor Commends Former Leaders

Professor Othman praised the former Vice Chancellor, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, and the former Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Aminu Ado, for their roles during the accreditation process.

He noted their support in guiding the university through the exercise.

Staff, Students and Planning Team Recognised

The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the work of deans, heads of department, faculty members, administrative staff and students.

Special recognition went to the Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring, led by Professor Daud Mustafa, for coordinating preparations and helping the process run well.

Another NUC Accreditation Exercise Comes in October 2026

Professor Othman disclosed that another round of NUC accreditation has been scheduled for October 2026.

He pledged university support for the affected departments and urged them to begin preparations at once, so FUDMA can stay ready for the next quality assurance review.
