FUDMA releases SUG election timetable for 2025/2026

The University Management of Federal University Dutsin-Ma, FUDMA, has approved and released the schedule of activities for the Student Union Government, SUG, elections for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to an internal memo signed by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. M. G. Garba, the election process will begin in late April and end in early May.

The election programme will move through form sales, screening, publication of successful candidates, campaign activities, voting, and inauguration.

24 to 26 April 2026: Sales of forms begin

Sales of forms and expression of interest by aspiring candidates will begin on 24 April 2026 and continue until 26 April 2026.

27 April 2026: Screening of aspirants

Screening of aspirants and formal consideration of eligibility will hold on 27 April 2026.

28 April 2026: List of successful candidates

The list of successful candidates will be published on 28 April 2026. Appeal cases will also be considered on the same date.

29 April 2026: Manifestations and debates

Manifestations and Presidential or candidate debates will take place on 29 April 2026.

30 April 2026: Election Day

FUDMA will conduct the SUG election on 30 April 2026; winners will be formally declared the same day.

2 May 2026: Inauguration of new executives

The inauguration of the newly elected Executive Council members will hold on 2 May 2026.

What students should note from the timetable

The released schedule shows a short, fixed election window. Aspirants will move from form purchase to screening within days, then to debate, voting, and final swearing-in.

That sequence sets the pace; each stage has a clear date.
