What the Senate Chairman told the promoted staff

While congratulating the newly promoted Professors and Readers, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku urged them to provide academic leadership to their colleagues. He also asked them to help younger staff move forward when they meet the required qualifications and standards.

That message gave the promotion news a wider frame; it was not only about rank, but about duty, mentoring, and steady academic leadership inside the University.
