The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, says the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME on Thursday, 16 April 2026, will be released on Friday, 17 April 2026.
The notice came from the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a post on X. He said an announcement would follow once the results became available.
JAMB says the first batch will be released before midnight
Fabian Benjamin wrote:
“This is to inform all candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16th April 2026, that their results will be released today before midnight. An official announcement will be made to the public and posted on this page as soon as the results are available. Thank you.”
That update means candidates who wrote on Thursday, 16 April, should expect their results on Friday, 17 April; the board said the release would happen before midnight.
The 2026 UTME runs in four daily sessions
The examination is scheduled to run through 22 April 2026. JAMB arranged the exercise into four daily sessions, starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m.
The structure is meant to handle the high number of candidates and cut congestion at Computer-Based Test centres.
This year, nearly 2.2 million candidates are taking part across 966 accredited centres. Each centre is expected to meet set operational benchmarks, including functional computer systems, stable internet connectivity, electricity, and adequately trained personnel.
How candidates can check the results when they are out
Candidates can check through SMS once the result is available.
SMS steps to follow
- Send “UTME RESULT” or “UTMERESULT” in capital letters to 55019 or 66019.
- The message must go from the exact phone number used during registration.
- Not similar. Not close. The Same number used during registration.
- The line must have N50 airtime.
