Sahara Group #SaharaBeyondXXX GMT Programme 2026 Opens for Applications

Sahara Group has opened applications for the #SaharaBeyondXXX GMT Programme 2026. The company describes the programme as an accelerated path for young professionals who will help shape its next chapter.

Sahara Group presents itself as a global energy and infrastructure conglomerate with operations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The company says its M.A.D ambition means “Making A Difference”. That idea sits at the centre of its growth, corporate social impact, and environmental stewardship.

As Sahara marks 30 years of impact in 2026, it says it is entering its “Beyond XXX” chapter. In this frame, XXX stands for three decades of Making A Difference, while Beyond XXX points to what comes next: Xtra.

What the programme is about

The #SaharaBeyondXXX GMT Programme is aimed at high-potential young professionals. Sahara says the programme is built to move participants from learning into leadership early, with direct responsibility inside Africa’s energy sector.

The company adds that the Graduate Management Trainees, GMTs, are expected to be bold thinkers and innovators who can support its Beyond XXX direction and its continuing change across the business.

What participants will get

According to the announcement, the programme offers:

  • 6 months of hands-on training with live projects and transactions
  • end-to-end exposure to the energy value chain
  • deployment and rotation across key parts of the organisation
  • direct mentorship from senior leaders and subject-matter experts
  • early leadership responsibility in fast-paced, high-impact environments

This makes the structure plain; training, exposure, rotation, and guided learning all sit inside one path.

Who Sahara wants

Sahara frames the call around people who are audacious and visionary. The company asks whether applicants are ready for an experiential masterclass in the realities of the business world, whether they can thrive in a fast-paced environment, and whether they are ready to commit to real-time business exposure and projects.

That language gives the tone of the programme. It is pitched at people ready for pressure, movement, and practical work.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must meet these conditions:

  • a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower, 2:2, in any discipline, or equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution
  • 0 to 3 years work experience

Sahara also states that a Master’s degree or professional qualifications will be an added advantage.

The closing date for the #SaharaBeyondXXX GMT Programme 2026 is 17 April 2026.

Interested applicants can submit an application through the official Sahara Group GMT portal.

Why the 2026 edition stands out

The 2026 edition comes as Sahara marks 30 years of impact. The company links this intake to its Beyond XXX chapter and says it wants to identify and develop “Xtra Talents” who will deliver Xtra value, lead with purpose, and combine ambition with responsibility.

That message runs through the full announcement; Sahara is tying the programme to its next phase.
