National TVET Programme Second Cohort Application Opens

The Federal Government has opened applications for the second cohort of the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, Programme. The scheme is aimed at giving Nigerian youth practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and national development.

Maruf Tunji Alausa, Honourable Minister of Education, restated the government’s commitment to human capital development. He described the programme as a strategic intervention linked to the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

What the National TVET Programme Offers

The programme gives hands-on training through accredited centres across all states and the FCT. Participants will receive training for either 6 months or 1 year, depending on the option offered.

Each participant will also receive a monthly stipend of N22,500. At the end of training, successful participants will get nationally recognised certification.

That combination is clear; training, stipend, and certification sit at the centre of the programme.

Training duration

The National TVET Programme offers:

  • 6-month hands-on training
  • 1-year hands-on training

Stipend and certification

Participants will receive:

  • N22,500 monthly stipend
  • Nationally recognised certification after completion

Areas of Training Under the TVET Programme

The second cohort covers several high-demand sectors. The listed areas include:

  • ICT
  • construction
  • agriculture
  • automotive technology
  • creative media
  • fashion
  • cosmetology
  • tourism
  • catering
  • leather works

The Ministry is also working with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism to widen openings in creative and cultural industries. That part adds another layer to the training plan; it broadens the sectors already named.

Requirements for Registration

Applicants must provide their NIN and BVN during registration. The Ministry stated this as part of the process for the second cohort.

Attendance monitoring

Attendance will be monitored with biometric systems. Stipends will be tied to compliance; that condition is Firm.

Where Applicants Can Register

Eligible Nigerians can apply through the official National TVET application portal.

The Ministry urged eligible applicants to use the opening to gain market-relevant skills and support economic productivity.

What This Means for Applicants

For applicants seeking practical training, the National TVET Programme offers a direct route into skill-based learning across Nigeria. The second cohort covers training length, payment, certification, and sector options in plain terms.

The key details remain simple: apply through the official portal, submit NIN and BVN, attend training as required, and meet the compliance rules tied to the stipend.
