KWASU promotes 45 staff to professorial cadre

Kwara State University, Malete, has approved the promotion of 45 staff members to the professorial cadre.

The Governing Council ratified the promotions at its 78th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, 1 April 2026. The breakdown is direct; 20 staff members attained full professorship, while 25 others were promoted to associate professorship.

Full professors approved by KWASU

Faculty of Allied Health Sciences

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences produced one professor:

  • Professor Henry Olawale Sawyerr, Environmental Health Toxicology and Risk Management

Faculty of Agriculture

The Faculty of Agriculture produced three professors:

  • Professor Olayinka Jelil Yusuf, Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology
  • Professor Kayode Ayantoye, Agricultural Development and Policy
  • Professor Isaac Ade Afe, Agronomy

Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts produced four professors:

  • Professor Tajudeen Yusuf, Arabic Linguistics
  • Professor Saeedat Bolajoko Aliyu, Environment and Gender in African Studies
