NYSC Passing-Out Date

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has approved Thursday, 21 May 2026 as the passing-out date for 2025 Batch A Stream II Corps Members.

The announcement gives Corps Members a clear date for the close of their service year; it also sets out the activities that will take place before the final collection of Certificates of National Service.

NYSC Approves Passing-Out Date

NYSC Management approved the date for the passing-out of 2025 Batch A Stream II Corps Members.

The passing-out exercise will take place on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

For many Corps Members, that date marks the formal end of the service year. It is also the day deserving Corps Members will receive their Certificates of National Service.

Activities Start on 5 May 2026

Activities for the passing-out exercise will begin on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

The programme will include Job Advisory and Counselling, known as JAC, by NYSC and other relevant agencies. Corps Members will also complete the signing of final clearance with their Zonal Inspectors.

That final clearance matters. Without it, a Corps Member may not move smoothly to certificate collection.

Certificates to Be Issued Across Local Government Areas

NYSC said the event will be low-key.

Certificates of National Service will be distributed to deserving Corps Members across all Local Government Areas of the country. This means Corps Members will collect their certificates at LGA level, rather than through a large ceremony.

The arrangement keeps the exercise simple and direct.

NYSC DG Sends Message to Corps Members

The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished the Corps Members a successful winding-up and passing-out exercise.

He also urged them to let the core values of the Scheme guide their post-service relationships. The message was clear: Corps Members should leave service as good ambassadors of NYSC.

What Corps Members Should Note

Corps Members in 2025 Batch A Stream II should keep two dates close.

The first is Tuesday, 5 May 2026, when passing-out activities begin. The second is Thursday, 21 May 2026, the approved date for the final passing-out exercise.

Those who complete the required clearance and meet NYSC conditions will receive their Certificates of National Service.
