ABSU resumption date for 2025/2026 session

The Senate of Abia State University (ABSU) has approved the return of students for the 2025/2026 academic session. This was agreed at the 284th Regular Meeting of the Senate, held on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.
A statement signed by the Registrar, Dr Acho Elendu, says the session will begin on Monday, 1 December 2025.
ABSU also shared the timetable for the opening weeks of the session:
- Monday, 1 December 2025: Arrival and registration for new students
- Saturday, 6 December 2025: Return and registration for returning students
- Monday, 8 December 2025: Start of first semester lectures
- Friday, 12 December 2025: Orientation for new students
- Friday, 19 December 2025: Christmas break begins
- Monday, 12 January 2026: Lectures resume after Christmas break
The school management said students, both new and returning, must pay their fees and finish all registration steps. Only bona fide students who have paid and registered their courses will be allowed to use school facilities.
Students, parents, and guardians are asked to keep these dates in mind and follow the schedule as given.
