ABU sets dates for 2025/2026 hostel booking portal
The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria has shared the dates for opening the undergraduate accommodation booking portal for the 2025/2026 academic year.
A short notice from the Student Affairs Division, signed by the Accommodation Officer on behalf of the Dean, explains that hostel booking will run in two stages. This is meant to manage demand and reduce crowding, though students still need to act fast.
Opening dates
- Newly admitted students: Monday, 22 December 2025
- Returning students: Monday, 5 January 2026
Students who qualify should use the ABU student registration portal for hostel booking at portal.abu.edu.ng to reserve a bedspace.
Points students should read carefully
The bulletin also listed reminders that matter, even if they look familiar.
- The accommodation page only opens after full school fees payment and course registration for the session. No payment, no access.
- Bedspaces are cleared and confirmed on a first come basis, after payment and physical checks with Hall Administrators. Delays can cost a spot.
- Any buying, selling, or swapping of bedspaces is banned. Students caught in this may face penalties listed on the Hall Residency Form.
- Electricity, water, and other school items should be used with care. Damage or misuse brings extra charges.
- Requests from 300 Level students will be looked at only if spaces are still free some weeks after the portal opens.
- Every resident must complete end of session clearance with the Hall Administrators. Skipping this step can cause issues later.
The opening of the accommodation portal is part of the school’s plan to support its students and manage limited hostel spaces. It may not fit everyone, but those who follow the steps early tend to avoid stress.
