The Academic Affairs Directorate of Ahmadu Bello University issued a notice on collecting academic gowns for the convocation ceremony scheduled for Fri, 30 Jan 2026 and Saturday, 31 January 2026.

The memo carries the signature of Ag. Director Umar Kasinu; it directs academic units to arrange gown collection for graduating students.

Who should collect the gowns

Academic units, including the Postgraduate College and College of Medical Sciences, are to send their Administrative Secretaries or Faculty Officers to the Directorate of Academic Affairs to collect gowns for graduates (as directed). A unit can Send an officer; the Directorate expects that route for distribution.

Gown fees and payment

Graduates are to pay a non-refundable fee:

  • Undergraduates: N3,000
  • Postgraduates: N6,000

All payments are to follow the attached procedure; graduates should Pay and Keep the receipt for return documentation.

Return deadline for academic gowns

The university stated that all gowns must come back in good condition, with payment receipts, no later than Friday, 20 Feb 2026 (note the date; it is specific).
