AKSU Starts Online Screening for Nursing and Health Sciences 2025/2026

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has started online applications and screening for admission into Nursing, Medical, Health Sciences, and related programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The university says the National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval for AKSU to run full-time Bachelor’s degree programmes under the Faculty of Health Sciences, starting from the 2025/2026 session.

List of approved programmes

AKSU listed these courses for the new intake:

  • Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.)
  • Public Health (B.Sc.)
  • Community Health Science (B.CHS.)
  • Health Information Management (B.HIM)
  • Science Laboratory Technology (B.Sc.)
  • Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS)
  • Environmental Health Science (B.EHS)

UTME cut-off marks and who can apply

AKSU set different UTME scores for Nursing and the other programmes.

For Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.)

  • Only UTME candidates who chose AKSU as first choice
  • Must score at least 290

For the other listed programmes

  • UTME score must be at least 265

If a candidate did not pick AKSU as first choice, the university tells the person to do a Change of Institution to AKSU through the JAMB portal.

When the registration portal opens

AKSU says the online registration portal for the 2025/2026 admission exercise opens on Monday, 5 January 2026.

One more thing, and it’s direct: only candidates who finish the online registration will be considered for admission. No completed registration, no go.

Documents needed for the online screening

Applicants must upload these items:

How to register and upload files

Registration happens online through the university portal. Candidates should use the official page below:

AKSU says candidates should:

  • enrol using their JAMB registration number
  • pay a ₦2,000 registration fee (non-refundable, bank charges not included)
  • upload scanned documents in JPG format
  • keep each file size between 120KB and 150KB

If the file size is too big, it won’t sit well. That’s usually where people get stuck.

Warning about agents and fake help

AKSU warned applicants to watch out for fraud. The university says it does not use agents or private persons to process admissions.

So payments and questions should go through official AKSU channels only. Clean and simple.
