Federal Poly Ayede Vacancies for Registrar, Bursar and Librarian
The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of the Registrar/Bursar/Polytechnic Librarian. These posts will become vacant on 16 March 2026.
The Registrar
The Registrar answers to the Rector for the day-to-day running of the Polytechnic. The Registrar also carries out other duties the Governing Council or the Rector may assign from time to time. The Registrar is a Principal Officer, heads the Registry Department, keeps Polytechnic records, and serves as Secretary to the Council, the Academic Board, and any Standing Committee of the Council.
Qualifications and experience (Registrar)
The candidate must meet these requirements:
- A first degree with at least second class lower division, or an HND with at least Lower Credit, in Social Sciences, Education, Arts, Humanities, or related courses from a recognised higher learning school.
- Post-qualification work experience as follows:
- First degree or HND holders: at least eighteen (18) years relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree holders: at least fifteen (15) years relevant experience, or
- PhD holders: at least twelve (12) years relevant experience
And at least ten (10) years of the experience must be in a Polytechnic or similar TVET school.
- Registered member of relevant professional bodies recognised by the Federal Government.
- Currently on the rank of Deputy Registrar for not less than five (5) years in a Polytechnic or similar TVET school.
- Skilled in Information and Communication Technology.
- Not more than fifty-nine (59) years of age as at 16 March 2026.
- Evidence of strong administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in admin policy work, good human relations, and positive managerial traits.
- Good knowledge of Public Service Rules and Regulations within the Polytechnic system.
- A person not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious, or other sectional interest.
- Morally sound, of good character, with proven integrity, and free from financial embarrassment.
- Physically and mentally fit, with evidence from a Government hospital.
The Bursar
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Polytechnic and answers to the Rector for the daily control of the Polytechnic’s financial affairs. The Bursar is a Principal Officer, heads the Bursary Department, and keeps custody of Polytechnic finances.
Qualifications and experience (Bursar)
The candidate must meet these requirements:
- A first degree with at least second class lower division, or an HND with at least Lower Credit, in Accountancy or Finance-related courses from a recognised higher learning school.
- Post-qualification work experience as follows:
- First degree or HND holders: at least eighteen (18) years relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree holders: at least fifteen (15) years relevant experience, or
- PhD holders: at least twelve (12) years relevant experience
And at least ten (10) years of the experience must be in a Polytechnic or similar TVET school.
- Registration with ICAN or ANAN.
- Currently on a rank one level below Bursar (Chief Accountant or Deputy Bursar or Deputy Director, Audit as the case may be) for not less than five (5) years in a Polytechnic or similar TVET school.
- Good ICT skills, including accounting packages.
- Not more than fifty-nine (59) years of age as at 16 March 2026.
- Evidence of strong financial and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in financial policy work, good human relations, and positive managerial traits.
- Good knowledge of Financial Rules and Regulations within the Polytechnic system.
- Evidence of membership of professional body or bodies.
- A person not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious, or other sectional interest.
- Morally sound, of good character, with proven integrity, and free from financial embarrassment.
- Physically and mentally fit, with evidence from a Government hospital.
The Polytechnic Librarian
The Polytechnic Librarian is the Chief Library Officer and answers to the Rector for running the Polytechnic Library and coordinating library services in teaching units. The Polytechnic Librarian is a Principal Officer. The successful candidate must have library management experience, show strong interest in academic work, and be credible too.
Academic qualifications and qualities (Polytechnic Librarian)
The candidate must meet these requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised school. A PhD is an added advantage.
- At least second class lower division degree, or at least Lower Credit in HND, in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised school.
- At least eighteen (18) years relevant experience in tertiary schools, with at least ten (10) years in a Polytechnic or similar TVET school.
- Currently on the rank of Chief Librarian from the Polytechnic sector, with not less than five (5) years on the rank.
- Evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in library policy work, good human relations, and positive managerial traits.
- Evidence of membership of library-related professional body or bodies recognised by the Federal Government.
- Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and presentation of invited papers at education or library conferences, seminars and workshops.
- A person not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious, or other sectional interest.
- Morally sound, of good character, with proven integrity, and free from financial embarrassment.
- Physically and mentally fit, with evidence from a Government hospital.
- Proficient in Information and Communication Technology.
- Not more than fifty-nine (59) years of age as at 16 March 2026.
Terms of appointment and condition of service
The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years in line with extant provisions. Salary is consolidated, and the appointee will receive other benefits attached to the position of a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic, as approved by the Federal Government.

Referees must forward confidential reports directly to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State. The referees should be able to speak on the candidate’s academic and managerial ability, and the candidate’s uprightness. Some people forget to brief their referees, so it can delay.
