The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, on behalf of Council, Senate, Staff and Students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), invites the public to the University’s 34th Convocation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 Academic Session and the 43rd Founders’ Day.
The invitation covers the conferment of various categories of Degrees and Diplomas, plus the award of prizes.

Convocation Ceremony and Founders’ Day (Conferment and prizes)
This covers conferment of Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, and presentation of prizes.

Information to Graduands (read this twice)
Payments
All payments are to be made into the Federal University of Technology, Minna TSA Account (No. 0190472161017) with the Central Bank of Nigeria. For details, check the FUTMINNA official website.
Physical presence
Graduands must be physically present at the ceremony to receive certificates and prizes (where applicable). The notice is direct on this; attendance is not handled by proxy.
What graduands must present for certificate collection
To collect original certificates immediately after the Convocation Ceremony, graduands are expected to present:
a. The original statement of results earlier issued by the University (where applicable).
b. Final year clearance form, duly signed by all concerned.
c. Final year identity card or a letter of identification from the Student Affairs Division.
Invitation cards and academic gowns
Invitation cards and academic gowns are to be collected from Secretaries of the respective Schools from Monday, 26th Jan 2026. The School Secretaries handle it; Graduands should keep the details straight (dates matter).
Return of gowns and surcharge
Issued academic gowns must be returned to the School Secretaries immediately after the ceremony, before the collection of original certificates. The notice also states there will be a surcharge for any damaged academic gown.
Security and access rules (Security is not a suggestion)
Graduands and members of the public are asked to note the following:
- University Security personnel will direct guests to designated parking lots.
- Luggage and bags are not allowed into the Convocation Square Arena.
Photographers, hawkers and vendors of any item are to pay N500.00 only for registration. They are also told they will not be allowed into the convocation square.
Note: Graduands will not be allowed into the Convocation Square after 10:30 a.m.

The notice states live streaming of events will be available on the FUTMINNA website for live streaming.
