FUTMINNA Portal Closed: SUG Explains Deadline Issue and Reopening Updates

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has responded to concerns about the recent closure of the school portal.

Students who use the portal for payments and other academic activities raised worries after access stopped; the Union says it understands the tension.

What the SUG said (18 January 2026)

A press release dated 18 January 2026, signed by the Office of the Public Relations Officer, stated that the portal was closed after an earlier deadline set by the university management expired.

The Union linked the closure to that deadline ending; students had been relying on the portal for school fees payment and other school-related processes.

Why the FUTMINNA school portal was closed

The SUG explained that the portal closure followed the expiration of the management deadline. That decision triggered concern among students who still needed the portal for payments and other academic tasks.

(No extra reasons were stated in the release.)

What the SUG is doing now

The Union said it is in active communication with the appropriate authorities to resolve the issue; efforts are ongoing to get the portal reopened as soon as possible.

The SUG also said updates will be shared promptly through official Channels.

What students should do right now

So, what should students do while waiting?

The SUG advised students to remain calm and avoid panic. The Union stated that once the portal reopens, students will be able to proceed with school fees payment and other necessary academic processes.

Ignore unofficial updates and mixed messages

The Students’ Union urged students to disregard misleading information circulating from unofficial sources (especially claims that do not come through recognised school channels).

The Union also thanked students for their patience and cooperation, and said it will keep the student body informed as the matter progresses.

Date note (as stated by the Union)

The release was dated 18 Jan 2026.
