FUTO Notice to Newly Admitted Candidates on JAMB CAPS Programme

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has issued a notice to recently admitted candidates. The message is direct: the programme shown on the JAMB CAPS portal must match the programme offered by the University.

FUTO wants every affected candidate to act fast; the deadline is Monday, January 19, 2026.

What FUTO is asking candidates to do

Any candidate admitted into a programme at FUTO that differs from what appears on their JAMB CAPS profile must go to the JAMB CAPS portal and effect a change to the correct programme.

This requirement applies where FUTO has offered admission for a course, but the candidate still sees a different course on CAPS. That mismatch needs to stop; registration issues can follow if it stays.

Deadline for compliance

FUTO set a clear date: candidates must take the required action on or before Mon, 19 Jan, 2026.

A candidate who delays may run into avoidable issues during admission processing and later registration (the paperwork side can get messy, fast).

For candidates who cannot print the JAMB admission letter

FUTO also addressed another problem: some admitted candidates cannot print their JAMB admission letter.

Those candidates should visit the University Admissions Office for guidance and help. The Admissions Office will point them in the right direction, step by step, so they can sort out the print issue.

Memo details and who signed it

The notice came through a memorandum signed by the University Admissions Officer, Professor I. J. Ogoke.

The memo reference number is FUTO/VC/UAO/GEN.5/II/002. It was addressed to the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), with a request to publish the notice on the university’s official website for wider awareness.

What candidates should do now

Recently admitted candidates should confirm what they see on CAPS, then correct any mismatch before the deadline. That simple check can save time later; nobody wants admission drama after getting an offer.
