OOU Matriculation Ceremony and Orientation

Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria, has released the date for the Matriculation Ceremony for students admitted for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. The event will take place on Thursday, 8 January 2026, following the Orientation Programme set for Monday, 6 January and Tuesday, 7 January 2026.

The matriculation ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall, Main Campus, Ago-Iwoye. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, will lead the ceremony alongside other principal officers of the university. Provosts and Deans of Colleges and Faculties are expected to formally present their new students for the compulsory oath-taking.

Each fresher is required to pay a matriculation fee of Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (₦2,500.00) through the official OOU payment portal at payments.oouagoiwoye.edu.ng. After payment, students must print their receipt and present it at their College or Faculty Office to collect the academic gown for the ceremony.

The Orientation Programme for the 2025/2026 session will hold on Monday, 6 January and Tuesday, 7 January 2026. Activities will start at 8:00 a.m. each day at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall, Main Campus, Ago-Iwoye. The Vice-Chancellor is expected to formally open the programme, with members of the university management present.

New students are reminded that attendance at both the orientation programme and the matriculation ceremony is compulsory. Freshmen must wear their matriculation gowns and be seated at the venue by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, 8 January 2026.
