Sokoto State Scholarship Board Verification Update 2025/2026

The Sokoto State Scholarship Board has shared a fresh notice for students on state scholarship support. The board says a verification exercise is about to start for newly admitted and returning beneficiaries for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This update came through a public statement dated 18 December 2025. The exercise is meant for indigenes of Sokoto State who are studying at selected schools listed below.
Schools covered in this exercise
The verification applies to students enrolled at:
- Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUSOK)
- Shehu Shagari College of Education, affiliated with Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
- Shehu Shagari University of Education
- Sokoto State University
Only students from these schools should prepare for the screening at this time.
Verification dates and schedule
The exercise will run in stages.
For students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, verification is set for:
- Monday, 5 January to Saturday, 10 January 2026
Students of Sokoto State University will be attended to on:
- Monday, 26 January to Saturday, 31 January 2026
Each session will take place inside the respective campuses. Daily activities start by 8:00 a.m. sharp, so getting there early matters. Late arrival may slow things down.
Documents students must bring
Every student attending the exercise is expected to come with the following:
- A completed scholarship application form
- Original copies and photocopies of all academic results
- Indigene letter
- Admission confirmation letter
- National Identification Number slip
- Invoice and Remita, or any proof of payment for school registration fees
Missing papers can cause issues, so students should check their files twice. Some forget one page, it happens.
Update on other schools
The board added that the date and venue for students of Shehu Shagari University of Education and Shehu Shagari College of Education (affiliated with UDUSOK and ABU Zaria) will be announced later. Students from those schools are asked to wait for further notice.
