The Sultan Maccido Institute for Peace, Leadership and Development Studies, University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), has opened admissions into its professional and postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The centre is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates across many fields (Engineering, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts, Military, Paramilitary, Agriculture, Education, Taxation, and Law). General admission requirements

Prospective applicants are expected to meet these conditions:

  1. At least five (5) O’level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
  2. A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (not below Second Class Lower division). For PGD, a minimum of Lower Credit from HND (or equivalent) is accepted.
  3. NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
  4. For Professional PhD, candidates must meet the university matriculation requirements and have a basic degree, a professional master’s, and an MSc in a relevant field.

Screening and programme duration

All prospective candidates will undergo a screening exercise to confirm eligibility (so documents should be ready and complete).

Programme duration is listed as:

  • PGD: 9 to 24 months
  • Master’s degree: 18 to 35 months
  • Professional PhD: 3 to 7 years
  • Certificate courses: as required
