UNICROSS Registration Process for Fresh Students: Fees, Documents, Portal Steps
The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has issued an official circular on the approved registration process for all newly admitted (Year One) students for the current academic session.
The circular came from the Office of the Registrar and was addressed to fresh students, staff, the university community, and the general public. It sets out the steps students must follow to complete registration, in order.
Step 1: Pay complete school fees and confirm payment
Fresh students must Pay their complete school fees for the session, then print the online payment receipt.
After printing the receipt, the student must present it to the Faculty Finance Officer for confirmation (this confirmation matters, so it should not be skipped).
Step 2: Report to the Faculty Officer with required documents
After payment confirmation, the student should report to the Faculty Officer with these documents:
- Confirmed receipt of payment of school and acceptance fees
- O’Level certificate(s) or statement of result (originals and four photocopies)
- Evidence of age (Birth Certificate or Age Declaration)
- Certificate of Local Government and State of Origin
- JAMB Admission Letter
- University Admission Letter
- Letters of Attestation
- Receipt of payment of Faculty and Departmental registration fees
Some students may call it “registration papers” while others say “clearance documents”; UNICROSS listed the items above, and the student is expected to come prepared.
Step 3: Payment for UNICROSS-branded files
UNICROSS also directed that fresh students are to pay N1,000 only to the Faculty Finance Officer for the issuance of five (5) UNICROSS-branded files.
Step 4: Certificate verification (O’Level result and scratch cards)
Students must submit their O’Level certificate(s) or statement of result, along with the relevant scratch card(s), to the Faculty Certificate Verification Officer for verification.
For students combining results, scratch cards must be attached for each result submitted; one result, one scratch card (simple, but people still miss it).
Step 5: Online course registration on the UNICROSS portal
After document verification, students are to proceed with online course registration through the university portal. The official login page is the UNICROSS portal.
Warning on unauthorised payments
UNICROSS cautioned students against making any unauthorised payments to staff for certificate verification, faculty or departmental registration, Students’ Union Government (SUG), or other departmental charges. The circular stressed that such payments are already covered in the approved school fees.
Instruction to staff involved in the exercise
The circular also warned all staff involved in the registration exercise to follow the approved procedures Strictly. The university management stated it will apply appropriate disciplinary measures against any defaulting staff.
Vice-Chancellor’s message to fresh students
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State, Professor Francisca Bassey, congratulated all newly admitted students and formally welcomed them to the university.
