UNIMAID 2026 hostel accommodation schedule for returning and new students

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released the schedule for the 2026 hostel accommodation process for returning and new students.

The notice came from the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Ahmadu M. Brono; it was dated Jan 12, 2026. Students who want campus housing should follow the dates as stated (missing one step can cost a bed space).

Key dates UNIMAID released

UNIMAID listed the main timetable below:

When hostels open for occupation

The university hostels will open for student occupation from Monday, January 26, 2026.

When to collect hostel PINs

Student PINs, required for transactions, will be available for collection at the designated Microfinance Bank from Thursday, Jan 15, 2026.

Some students call it a PIN slip, others say “PIN code”; the point is the same, the PIN is required for the process.

Booking and payment window

The official period for booking hostel rooms and making payments will run from January 26, 2026, to Feb 9, 2026.

That window covers both the room booking and the payment step; a student should not assume booking alone is enough.

Payment deadline warning (do not ignore this)

UNIMAID gave a strict warning on the deadline. Any hostel booking that does not get full payment by the end of the day on 9 February 2026 will be automatically revoked.

So, a student can book early and still lose the slot if payment is not completed on time; that is the rule in the notice.

Where to direct enquiries

For further enquiries, students should contact the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
