UNIMAID Resumption Date and Schedule for 2025/2026 Session (Registration, Lectures)
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released its resumption schedule for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.
A circular from the Office of the Registrar confirmed the plan; Mrs. Zara Umar Ibrahim, Deputy Registrar (Directorate of Senate and Academic Matters), signed it. The University Senate took the decision at its 321st meeting held on Thursday, 13 Nov 2025.
When UNIMAID reopens
UNIMAID will reopen for the new session on Thursday, Jan 15, 2026.
That date marks the start of resumption activities for the 2025/2026 session; students should take note and act early, even if the timeline feels tight.
Registration dates for new and returning students
Registration will run in batches, with different start dates for freshers and returning students.
New students
- Registration begins on Jan 15, 2026.
Returning students
- Registration commences on Monday, 26 Jan 2026.
The circular keeps it clear: the two groups do not begin registration on the same day; this helps the school manage flow and reduce delays (a small but Real detail students notice on campus).
Lecture start date for all students
Academic activities for all students will begin on Monday, February 2, 2026.
This lecture start date applies across the board, for both new entrants and returning undergraduates; it is the point the session moves from registration to full academic work.
Message from the university management
The management also sent goodwill messages to staff and students, wishing everyone a successful academic session.
