UMTH Higher Diploma in Community Health Admission 2026/2027

University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), through its College of Community Health, has invited qualified candidates to apply for admission into the Higher Diploma in Community Health for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The admission covers both the two-year and one-year programmes, and applicants need to meet the stated academic and professional requirements before collecting the form. Dates matter here; the form window, return deadline, entrance exam and interview period have all been listed.

UMTH Higher Diploma in Community Health General Requirements

All applicants for the one-year and two-year programmes must have a Diploma in Community Health (CHEW) with a valid licence.

Candidates must also hold at least five SSCE credits from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, obtained at not more than two sittings. The required subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Physics and Chemistry.

That subject list is not loose.

Extra Requirements for the One-Year Programme

Candidates applying for the one-year programme must have any of the following qualifications:

• B.Sc. in Community Health
• B.Sc. in Public Health
• B.Sc. in Health Education

Applicants who do not fall under any of these listed degree areas should take note before starting the process.

UMTH Higher Diploma in Community Health Application Fees

The application fee depends on the programme choice.

• One-year programme: N10,000
• Two-year programme: N5,000

Payment is to be made at the UMTH Billing Office.

How to Apply for UMTH Higher Diploma in Community Health Admission

Applicants should visit the UMTH Billing Office and pay the correct application fee for their chosen programme.

After payment confirmation, candidates should obtain the application form from the College of Community Health, UMTH. The completed form must be returned to the College on or before the stated deadline.

UMTH Application Dates, Deadline and Interview Schedule

The application period runs from Monday, 4 May 2026 to Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

All completed forms must be returned on or before Tuesday, 14 July 2026. The entrance examination and interview will hold from Monday, 20 July 2026 to Friday, 24 July 2026.

Applicants should keep these dates close; missing one may affect the admission process.
