The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a different orientation schedule for Prospective Corps Members posted to Enugu and Osun states for the 2026 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation Course.
For these two states, the orientation exercise will begin on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, and end on Monday, 18 May 2026. That start date comes one week after the exercise begins in the other 34 states and the FCT.
NYSC orientation date for Enugu and Osun states
Prospective Corps Members deployed to Enugu and Osun should take note of the revised timetable.
The exercise in both states will run as follows:
- Start date: Tuesday, 28 April 2026
- End date: Monday, 18 May 2026
The notice makes the change clear; Enugu and Osun will not follow the same opening date as the other states.
Why the NYSC changed the date
NYSC said the slight adjustment came from the on-going extensive renovation of the camps by the state governments.
That camp work made the date change necessary for Enugu and Osun. The reason is direct, and the message is plain.
Orientation date for other states and the FCT
For all other states and the Federal Capital Territory, the orientation exercise will hold from Wednesday, 22 April 2026, to Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
That means Enugu and Osun will start one week later than the other 34 states and the FCT.

Affected Prospective Corps Members are expected to note the differing dates and comply with the schedule for their states of deployment.
NYSC also wished all Prospective Corps Members a safe journey to their states of deployment.
