Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, has postponed the first semester examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session by one week.
The college said the change followed a meeting between Management, the Students’ Union Government, and the Students’ Representative Council on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. The request came from the student side; it was tied to the need for students to complete their registration formalities.
New date for OSCOTECH first semester examinations
The first semester examinations were earlier fixed to begin on Monday, 13 April 2026.
The Rector has now approved a new commencement date of Monday, 20 April 2026. That update changes the exam start by one week, and students are expected to work with the new date.
Why OSCOTECH postponed the examinations
At the meeting with the SUG and SRC, the request for a one-week shift was discussed.
The reason given was to allow students complete their registration formalities as expected. After deliberation, Management approved the shift and issued the new date.
Lecture-free week announced by the college
Management also approved Monday, 13 April to Friday, 17 April 2026 as lecture-free week.
That period gives students extra time to sort out school fees and complete registration before the examinations begin. The message is plain; the week is meant for clearance and registration, not delay.
What students must do before the exams
Students are required to pay their school fees and complete all registration formalities before the examinations start.
They must also collect the necessary clearance certificate. Any student who fails to complete registration and obtain clearance before the examinations begin will not be allowed to sit for the coming papers.
What the notice means for students
The notice applies to all students and the academic community of the college.
For affected students, the task is simple and Direct: use the extra week to settle fees, finish registration, collect clearance, and get ready for the first semester examinations.
