NAE Postgraduate Scholarship 2026/2027 for Nigerian Graduates

Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited, NAE, on behalf of NNPC Limited and NAE PSC, has invited suitably qualified Nigerian graduates to apply for the 2026/2027 Postgraduate Scholarship Award Scheme.

NAE states that the scheme forms part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme for manpower training and development.

The award comes in two categories; Overseas for study in a reputable overseas university, and Local for study in a recognised Nigerian university.

NAE Postgraduate Scholarship Categories

Applicants can apply under either of these two groups:

Overseas category

This category is for study in a reputable overseas university.

Local category

This category is for study in a recognised Nigerian university.

Approved Courses of Study

Only candidates with an offer of admission in disciplines related to the listed fields should apply.

The approved areas are:

  • Geosciences
  • Engineering, including Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Subsea, Electrical/Electronics, Marine, Chemical, Offshore, Environmental and Renewable
  • Petroleum Economics
  • Law, specifically Oil and Gas or Petroleum

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet the stated conditions before applying.

Academic requirement

The applicant must possess a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised Nigerian university.

Admission requirement

The candidate must have secured admission into a Nigerian or overseas university, based on the category chosen, for a one-year Master’s Degree programme in any of the listed disciplines.

Age requirement

The applicant must not be above 28 years of age by December 2025.

NYSC requirement

The candidate must have completed the one-year National Youth Service Corps programme.

Passport requirement for overseas applicants

Applicants under the Overseas category must possess an international passport with a validity period of at least one year from September 2025.

What Shortlisted Candidates Should Expect

NAE states that shortlisted candidates will receive details of the qualifying test through SMS and e-mail.

The notice also says:

  • shortlisted candidates will be required to take an aptitude test
  • only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the aptitude test
  • strict compliance with the stated guidelines is required

That point is plain; only shortlisted applicants move to the next stage.

Who Is Not Eligible

The scheme excludes some applicants.

These groups are not eligible:

  • current and past beneficiaries of similar awards from NAE and other affiliate companies and agencies
  • employees of NAE and other affiliate companies
  • dependants of employees of NAE and other affiliate companies

Application Closing Date

The application closes on 7 May 2026.

Applicants who want this scholarship need to complete the process before that date; late entries are outside the stated window.

NAE Notice to Applicants

NAE states that the advert must not be taken as a commitment on its part.

It also states that applicants cannot make any claim or seek any indemnity from NAE or any of its partners because they responded to the advert. That clause is there in black and white; applicants should read it with care.
