Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, through its School of Postgraduate Studies, invites qualified candidates to apply for postgraduate admission for the 2026/2027 academic session. The admission covers postgraduate diploma, master’s and PhD programmes across selected faculties and departments.
The application portal opens on Monday, 11 May 2026.
It closes on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
SLU postgraduate programmes for 2026/2027
SLU has listed postgraduate programmes across four faculties. Candidates should check their preferred faculty and department before starting the application.

SLU postgraduate admission requirements
Candidates must meet the entry rules for their chosen level of study. SLU also requires five O’ Level credits in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, for all the listed programmes.
Postgraduate Diploma requirements
A candidate for a postgraduate diploma programme must hold a qualification that SLU judges to be equal to a first degree, with at least a Third Class degree or higher.
The university also accepts Higher National Diploma with at least Lower Credit, or an equivalent qualification, as long as the candidate meets the university matriculation requirement.
Such candidates should also have the relevant post-qualification experience that the university may prescribe from time to time. SLU does not treat OND plus a professional qualification, or HD, as equal to HND.
Master’s degree requirements
A candidate seeking admission into an academic master’s degree programme must meet one of the conditions below.
The candidate may hold at least a Second Class Lower degree with a CGPA of not less than 2.75 on a 0.00 to 5.00 scale from Sule Lamido University or any other recognised university, provided the university matriculation requirement is met in the relevant area.
A candidate may also hold a Second Class Lower degree with a CGPA from 2.40 to 2.74 on a 0.00 to 5.00 scale from Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, or any other recognised university, plus a postgraduate diploma with at least a 3.00 CGPA, which is Merit, on a 0.00 to 5.00 scale. The candidate must also meet the university matriculation requirement in the relevant area.
SLU also accepts a postgraduate diploma with at least a 3.50 CGPA on a 0.00 to 5.00 scale, together with an HND with Upper Credit from any recognised tertiary school.
The Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate may also accept any other qualification judged to be equal to the listed options.
PhD requirements
A candidate applying for a Doctor of Philosophy programme must hold an academic master’s degree from Sule Lamido University or any other recognised university.
The candidate must also satisfy the stated conditions for master’s degree admission. The master’s programme CGPA must be at least 3.50 on a 0.00 to 5.00 scale.

Prospective candidates should visit the SLU postgraduate admission portal for the application guidelines and form.
The application runs from Monday, 11 May 2026, to Sunday, 19 July 2026. Candidates should complete the process within this period.
