Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUSOK) promotes academic staff to Professor and Reader

Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, UDUSOK, has announced the promotion of academic staff to the ranks of Professor and Reader.

The decision followed the outcome of the University’s 176th Governing Council meeting. The Council ratified the promotions at its sitting held on 1 April 2026, while the news was formally communicated in a Special UDUS News Bulletin issued on 2 April 2026 by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

Breakdown of the promotions

The bulletin states that 30 scholars were promoted to the rank of Professor.

It also states that 12 academic staff were promoted to the rank of Reader. That gives the announcement real weight; the numbers are plain and direct.
