University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its postgraduate programme of Master in Nursing Science with specialities for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The programme covers four areas of specialisation; applicants who meet the stated entry conditions can proceed with the application process through the Hospital’s portal.
Areas of Specialisation
UITH lists these specialities for the Master in Nursing Science programme:
- Accident and Emergency Nursing
- Nephrology Nursing
- Ophthalmic Nursing
- Paediatric Nursing
General Admission Requirements
Applicants seeking admission into the postgraduate programme must possess at least five credit passes in the required subjects.
O’ Level Requirements
Candidates must have five credit passes in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
The results must be obtained at not more than two sittings from WAEC or NECO, and at one sitting only from NABTEB.
Degree and Other Requirements
Applicants for the master’s degree programme must also meet these conditions:
- A minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Bachelor of Nursing Science
- Academic transcript of the first degree sent directly by the former University to the Office of the College Secretary, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Schools’ Complex, Amilegbe, Ilorin
- Three referees
- NYSC Exemption, Exclusion or Discharge Certificate
- Council Certificate in any of the four areas of specialisation, if available
Duration of the Programme
The Master’s Degree Programme runs for a minimum of three semesters and a maximum of six semesters.
How to Apply
Applicants are to complete the form through the UITH application website and make payment of N20,000 through the Remita platform only into the UITH General Purpose Account.
Cash payment or transfer to individual accounts is not allowed.
Remita Payment Steps
Applicants are to:
- Visit the Remita payment platform
- Click “Pay FGN and State TSA”
- Select “FGN Federal Government of Nigeria”
- Type “University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital” under who to pay
- Select “UITH GENERAL PURPOSE” under Name of Service/Purpose
- Fill in the other required details and make payment
After payment, the applicant can continue the application process. All payment receipts must be submitted to the Bursary Unit for payment verification.
Application Process After Payment
After payment through Remita, the applicant is to continue registration by filling the online SPBN form with the Remita Retrieval Reference number generated after payment.
The applicant is then to click UITH postgraduate nursing application portal. The portal will request a valid personal E-mail address.
A confirmation link will be sent to the E-mail address provided during registration. The applicant is to open the E-mail account in a new tab in the same browser and click the link sent by noreply@uithilorin.
The PBN application form will then open for completion and submission. The applicant is to select the preferred school from the drop-down menu.
Uploads and Form Notes
All data and scanned uploads, such as certificates, referees and Remita receipt, must be supplied correctly as required for the form to be processed.
On the sponsor details form, the applicant is expected to upload the scanned signature of the sponsor in jpeg, png or jpg format.
Each candidate is also required to upload three typed and scanned referees, with the referees’ letterheaded paper, in jpeg, png or jpg format.
After submission, the applicant will be directed to print or download the completed form after a short wait.
If the printout does not appear, the form was not successfully submitted and the applicant has to fill it again.
The online printout must be brought on the day of the examination or interview.
