The University of Lagos Business School, ULBS, has invited qualified candidates to apply for its Doctor of Business Administration, DBA, programme.
This programme is built for professionals who want to connect research-based knowledge with stronger work practice, national economic growth and social wellbeing. It is a doctoral route for people already carrying serious business, management or administrative duties, so the entry rules are set quite high.
About the ULBS Doctor of Business Administration Programme
The ULBS DBA programme links academic research with professional capacity building.
It focuses on practice.
Candidates admitted into the programme will study in a setting that brings professionals, experienced academics and professional scholars together. The aim is to help participants apply sound ideas to real business and management problems, with clear links to leadership inside and outside the workplace.
ULBS DBA Areas of Specialisation
Applicants can choose from three specialisation areas under the Doctor of Business Administration programme.
The available options are:
- DBA in Management and Leadership
- DBA in Finance
- DBA in Entrepreneurship
Each route is tied to professional practice and applied research, so candidates should choose the area that best matches their work record and proposed research topic.
Objectives of the ULBS DBA Programme
The programme has clear academic and professional goals.
ULBS wants to provide a shared learning space for professionals, guided by experienced academics and respected professional scholars. It also aims to train participants to develop and apply theoretical frameworks in work settings, rather than leaving research locked away on paper.
The DBA also seeks to promote applied research that can produce fresh answers to difficult business and management challenges.
Another goal is to expose participants to the knowledge, skills and personal attributes needed for management and leadership during their working lives. That part matters for candidates who already hold senior roles, since the programme expects them to bring real workplace experience into their research.
