The Africa Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Toxicological Research at the University of Port Harcourt has opened its admission portal for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Suitably qualified candidates can now apply for postgraduate programmes handled by ACE-PUTOR, with study options across public health, nursing, toxicology, and related fields.
Available ACE-PUTOR Programmes
ACE-PUTOR offers postgraduate tracks at PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D. levels.
The centre stated that the programmes are accredited by the National Universities Commission and the Royal Society of Biology.
Ph.D. and M.Sc. Options
Applicants can apply for Ph.D. and M.Sc. tracks in the following areas:
- Public Health
- Environment Health
- Environmental Toxicology
- Midwifery
- Child Health Nursing
- Public Health Nursing
Nutritional Biochemistry/Toxicology is available for Ph.D. only.
M.Sc. Options Only
The M.Sc.-only options are:
- Fertility Nursing
- Environmental Petroleum Toxicology
- One Health and Disease Modeling
- Quality, Leadership and Innovation in Health Care
Postgraduate Diploma Options
The PGD options are:
- Nursing
- Environmental Petroleum Toxicology
ACE-PUTOR Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the entry rules for their chosen level of study.
PGD applicants need an HND with upper credit in a related field, while candidates changing career path need a first degree in a suitable major with at least Second Class Lower Grade.
M.Sc. applicants need a B.Sc. degree in a suitable major.
They must have at least Second Class Lower Grade.
Ph.D. applicants must have completed an M.Sc. degree in a suitable major, with a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
Nursing applicants must also hold the required licences from their professional bodies.
Programme Duration
PGD and M.Sc. programmes run for 12 months on full-time study.
Part-time PGD and M.Sc. study runs for 24 months.
The Ph.D. programme runs for 36 months on full-time study, while the part-time option runs for 48 months.
How to Apply for ACE-PUTOR UNIPORT Admission
Interested applicants should submit their completed application forms, reference letters, statement of purpose, and relevant credentials by Friday, 17 July 2026.

Applicants can also apply onsite at the ACE-PUTOR office, University of Port Harcourt, East-West Road, opposite the Choba Area Police Command.
Scholarship Notice
ACE-PUTOR stated that limited scholarships are available for qualified candidates.
