UNIPORT 36th Combined Convocation Ceremony Schedule
Essential Highlights
University of Port Harcourt 36th Combined Convocation holds from 1 to 6 June 2026.
- First Degrees, Higher Degrees and prizes will be awarded
- Pre-convocation events start on 29 May
- Main ceremonies hold at the New Convocation Arena
- Nyesom Wike will deliver the convocation lecture

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Owunari A. Georgewill, invites the general public, graduands and well-wishers to the 36th Combined Convocation Ceremony.
The main convocation week will run from Monday, 1 June to Saturday, 6 June 2026.
During the ceremony, the university will award First Degrees, Higher Degrees and prizes. Postgraduate Diplomas will also be awarded as part of the programme.
Pre-Convocation Activities
Two events will take place before the main convocation week begins.

The convocation week opens with a media briefing and moves through tree planting, class activities, exhibitions, lectures and award ceremonies.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Dinner will honour First Class graduands and graduands with Distinction from the College of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The convocation lecture topic is “Leadership and Infrastructure Development in Nigeria: Lessons for Future Leaders.”
His Excellency, Chief Dr. (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS Africa, will serve as the guest lecturer.
Note for Graduands and Guests
Graduands, guests and well-wishers should check the date, time and venue for each event before leaving for the campus.
The programme covers several locations across University Park and Delta Park, so early planning will help guests attend the right event at the right venue.
