WAEC Job Recruitment 2026: Requirements & How to Apply

WAEC Job Recruitment 2026

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has invited applications from qualified Nigerians to fill nine vacancies.

The notice covers roles in general duties, accounts, information and communication technology, audit, and secretarial work. It also sets out the entry requirements, age limit, closing date, and the official application link.

WAEC listed the following positions:

  1. Examinations Officer (General Duties)
  2. Examinations Officer (Accounts)
  3. Examinations Officer (Information and Communication Technology)
  4. Confidential Secretary II
  5. Assistant Examinations Officer III (General Duties)
  6. Assistant Examinations Officer III (Accounts)
  7. Assistant Examinations Officer III (Information and Communication Technology)
  8. Assistant Examinations Officer III (Audit)
  9. Confidential Secretary V

WAEC recruitment requirements

The Council gave separate entry requirements for each post. Computer literacy is required for all positions.

Examinations Officer roles

Examinations Officer (General Duties)

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in any discipline from a recognised school. They must also have an NYSC discharge, exclusion, or exemption certificate.

Examinations Officer (Accounts)

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or a related discipline from a recognised school. They must also have an NYSC discharge, exclusion, or exemption certificate.

WAEC added that relevant professional qualifications will count as an added advantage.

Examinations Officer (Information and Communication Technology)

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Computer Science, ICT, or a related discipline from a recognised school. They must also have an NYSC discharge, exclusion, or exemption certificate.

WAEC stated that relevant professional qualification will count as an added advantage.

Confidential Secretary role

Confidential Secretary II

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Secretarial Studies, Secretarial Administration, or Office Technology Management from a recognised school. They must also have an NYSC discharge, exclusion, or exemption certificate.

Relevant professional qualifications will count as an added advantage.

Assistant Examinations Officer III roles

Assistant Examinations Officer III (General Duties)

Applicants must hold a National Diploma or NCE from a recognised school.

Assistant Examinations Officer III (Accounts)

Applicants must hold a National Diploma in Accountancy or Banking and Finance from a recognised school. WAEC also accepts the Accounting Technicians Scheme, ATS, Certificate of ICAN or ACCA.

Assistant Examinations Officer III (Information and Communication Technology)

Applicants must hold a National Diploma in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, or a related discipline from a recognised school.

Assistant Examinations Officer III (Audit)

Applicants must hold a National Diploma in Accountancy from a recognised school.

Confidential Secretary V

Applicants must hold an OND in Secretarial Studies, Secretarial Administration, or Office Technology Management from a recognised school.

O’Level requirement for all WAEC jobs

All applicants must possess five credits in WASSCE, SSCE, or GCE O’Level, including English Language and Mathematics, at one sitting.

WAEC also accepts six credits including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

That requirement applies across the board; no listed post is exempt.

Age limit for WAEC recruitment

Applicants for all positions must not be more than 40 years old at the close of the advertisement.
