AFIT Kaduna Opens IJMB Applications For 2025/2026 Session

The Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, has quietly rolled out the call for applications into its IJMB programme for the next academic session. It is that one-year run that can land a student right into 200-level of a university degree. No JAMB stress, just focus, books, and that final exam. For plenty of students tired of re-sitting JAMB, this feels like a second chance worth grabbing.

What the programme really means

This IJMB thing is not a shortcut, it is more like a different lane. Students who sign up face one full academic year of solid classes. At the end, they sit for the IJMB exam. With enough points, the reward is a direct jump into the university course of choice.

The rules are straight. To even stand a chance, one must already have five credits in O’level subjects. English and Mathematics are must-haves, then three other subjects linked to the chosen career path. And later, when the IJMB exam comes, at least ten points are needed to qualify for direct entry.

Who gets in and how

Every admitted student joins one of six groups, labelled IJMB 1 through IJMB 6. Where you fall depends on your O’level mix and career goals. It is all mapped carefully. Classes stretch across a full academic session. Some say it is intense, but at the end, it feels like a proper shot at university without going back to JAMB.

Application steps made simple

  • Visit the AFIT IJMB application portal
  • Select the 2025/2026 academic session
  • Fill out the online form
  • Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦10,000 using an Interswitch-enabled ATM card
  • Print the completed form and bring it, along with your SSCE or GCE result slip, during registration

The closing date has not been announced yet. So, if you are thinking about it, better not dull.

Notes from the school

  • NAF personnel are not allowed to apply
  • Admission is strictly based on merit
  • AFIT does not charge extra fees for admission processing
  • Any request for money outside the official process is most likely a scam
  • The school takes no blame for side deals or shortcuts. Stick to what is on the portal
