By  Updated on

American University of Nigeria is now accepting Post-UTME and Direct Entry applications for 2025/2026. If you scored 160 or above in UTME and meet the course requirements, you can apply online or by post. Read on to see what you need, how to qualify, and how to submit your application.

Apply for AUN Post-UTME and Direct Entry 2025/2026 Admission

The American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola is now accepting applications for its undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. This gives you the chance to study at one of Nigeria’s most respected private universities. Whether you’re applying through UTME, Direct Entry, or as a transfer student, AUN provides a clear and structured path to help you join its academic community.

This guide outlines everything you need to know about who qualifies, what documents to prepare, and how to apply.

Meet the basic admission requirements

To apply through UTME, you must meet the following:

  • A minimum JAMB score of 160 (or the official national cut-off for that year)
  • Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics
  • These credits must come from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, GCE, or IGCSE, in no more than two sittings

Extra course-specific requirements

For Engineering and Technology, you must also have:

  • Credit in Physics and Chemistry
  • Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing are not compulsory but will give you an advantage

For Law (LLB Honours), you must also have:

  • A credit in Literature-in-English

Meeting these criteria does not guarantee a place. AUN selects students based on their full academic record, including grades from SS1, SS2, and SS3.

Submit all required documents

Every applicant must provide the following:

  • A completed application form
  • Copy of your O-level results (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or IGCSE)
  • School transcripts for SS1, SS2, and SS3
  • A recommendation letter from your school principal
  • JAMB result slip (with at least 160 score)
  • A valid ID card (passport, national ID, or driver’s licence)
  • A short personal essay on why you want to attend AUN and your future goals

If you are applying through Direct Entry or Transfer, include these as well:

  • Your Diploma result (OND, NCE, HND, or A-Level)
  • Your official transcript from your previous institution
  • Your Direct Entry JAMB or IJMB result
  • Another recommendation letter

Make sure all your documents are clear and correct before submission.
