Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) CAPS Portal Activated for 2025/2026 Admission Exercise

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) for the 2025/2026 admission exercise. This update means that all candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of nursing sciences, college of health technology, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria can now monitor their admission status directly on the JAMB portal.

Candidates are advised to check their JAMB CAPS regularly to know when an institution has offered them admission and to respond promptly by accepting or rejecting it as required.

How to Use JAMB CAPS for the 2025/2026 Admission Process

To stay informed about your admission status on the JAMB platform, follow the five steps below carefully.

1. Verify Your O’Level Upload

Start by confirming that your O’Level results are properly uploaded on the JAMB portal:

  • Visit JAMB e-Facility Portal
  • Sign in with your registered email and password
  • Click Check Admission Status
  • Select Access My CAPS
  • Open My O’Level Result to see your upload status

If your result shows Awaiting Result, visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre or office to upload your O’Level results. Candidates with pending uploads will not have their admission processed.

2. Check When You Have Been Offered Admission

After confirming your upload, go to Admission Status to check your progress. If you are recommended or approved for admission, accept the offer promptly. Once accepted, print your JAMB Admission Letter and follow your school’s clearance instructions.

3. Transfer of Programme Approval

Some institutions may suggest a programme transfer due to UTME or O’Level subject combinations. To check this:

  • Go to Transfer Approval on your CAPS dashboard
  • Review any programme transfer recommendations
  • Accept or reject the transfer option

Accepting the transfer allows the school to process your admission into the new course. Rejecting it means staying with your initial preference, but admission might not proceed if requirements are unmet.

4. Upload for Awaiting Results and Direct Entry Candidates

UTME candidates waiting for their O’Level results should upload them once released.

Direct Entry candidates, including JUPEB or other A’Level students, must upload both A’Level and O’Level results on the JAMB portal to ensure their eligibility for admission screening by their preferred institutions.

5. How to Check Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

To confirm your admission status:

  1. Visit JAMB e-Facility Portal
  2. Log in with your registered email and password
  3. Click Check Admission Status
  4. Enter your JAMB registration number and click Access My CAPS
  5. Select Admission Status to view your offer

Once offered admission, you can accept or reject through biometrics at an accredited JAMB CBT Centre or by sending ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using your registered phone number.

Mobile Access Tip

If you are checking on a phone and see only a welcome page, switch your browser to Desktop Site mode to view all CAPS features. The Chrome browser is recommended for this.

Closing Note on JAMB Admission Monitoring

JAMB continues to promote transparency and accountability in the admission process for all Nigerian tertiary institutions. Candidates are encouraged to monitor their CAPS pages regularly, respond promptly to updates, and ensure all academic records are correctly uploaded to avoid delays in the 2025/2026 admission cycle.
