JAMB Set to Release UTME Resit Results Today

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will today, Wednesday, release the results of the make-up UTME held last weekend. The resit ran from Friday through Monday, following complaints about major issues during the first round.
What triggered the resit?
More than 1.9 million students sat for the original UTME, but the scores shocked a lot of people. Over 1.5 million did not get up to 200 marks out of 400. Many asked what went wrong. Some called for answers.
People were not happy with the results. Complaints poured in from all corners. JAMB looked into what went wrong and found mistakes — some from computers and some from people. These problems hit Lagos and several states in the Southeast the hardest.
Last week, the JAMB boss, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, stood in front of the public and said he was sorry. He did not try to dodge blame. In fact, he got emotional and cried while saying that students affected by these mistakes would get a second shot at the test.
JAMB has set up a press conference for this morning to break the news about the new results. If you sat for the rescheduled exam, keep your ears open and check the official JAMB site for updates on your result.
