Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post-UTME 2025: How to Apply Without Wahala

When the Portal Opens and Closes

Mark your calendar. The online form kicks off Saturday, 2nd August 2025. It’ll be live till Friday, 5th September 2025.

What Courses Are Available?

Four full-time National Diploma (ND) programmes are up for grabs. Each one runs for two years, broken into four semesters.

Here’s the list:

  1. Nautical Science
  2. Marine Engineering
  3. Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies

Solid options if you’re looking to sail into the maritime world, no pun intended.

Who Can Apply?

To be on the safe side, make sure:

  • You chose Maritime Academy of Nigeria as your first choice in UTME. No second thoughts.
  • You got at least:
    • 175 in UTME for Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
    • 160 if you’re going for Maritime Transport and Business Studies.

If your score doesn’t meet the mark, you fit just chill for next year.

C: Maritime Transport and Business Studies

O-Level Subjects:

  • Maths

  • Geography or Commerce
  • Then, pick one from Government, Accounting or Business Management

UTME Subjects:

  • English

  • Choose one: Geography, Commerce, Government or Principles of Account

You Must Be Fit – Like, Seriously

This one is not joke o.

Since it’s maritime work, you need to be physically and mentally ready for the hustle. You’ll undergo tests for things like:

  • Blood group
  • HIV, HBV
  • Drug/alcohol test
  • PCV, FBS, VDRL
  • Pregnancy test (for ladies)
  • Urinalysis
  • Genotype

Also, you must fill and upload the Medical Form (Form M) after printing it from the portal.

If you pass the shortlist stage, they’ll call you in for the full health screening.

You Can’t Be Married

Yep, you read that right. You must be single and stay single till you complete your programme. No love drama allowed.

Age Requirements

  • For Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering: Age 16–21 by 31st September 2025.
  • For Maritime Transport and Business Studies: 16–25 by the same date.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

  1. Visit the Academy website.
  2. Click on the Admission HND/ND Registration Portal. Or go straight to this page.
  3. Log in with your UTME number as username and your JAMB score as password.
  4. Generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) and print the slip.
  5. Take it to your bank and pay the N2,000 fee via Remita.
  6. Go back to the portal and finish your registration.

Keep all your documents handy. You don’t want to scramble last minute.

Final Dates to Keep in Mind

  • Form opens: Monday, 28th July 2025
  • Form closes: Saturday, 30th September 2025
