About the Role
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the university. The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor and serve as the Secretary to key governing bodies including the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation.
This is a strategic leadership position. It requires someone who understands the complexity of university administration in a modern academic environment and can manage the demands that come with such responsibility.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree from a recognised university.
- Possess a relevant Master’s degree.
- Have at least 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience, with a minimum of five years as a Deputy Registrar in a university setting.
- Be a member of relevant professional bodies.
Other key requirements:
- Must not be older than 60 years at the time of appointment.
- Must have a clean criminal record.
- Should display strong leadership, communication, and management abilities.
- Must be mentally and physically fit.
- Be well-versed in university governance and administrative procedures.
- Show evidence of computer literacy and understanding of current administrative tools.
- Should be capable of mentoring teams and resolving crises effectively.
- Must possess a high level of integrity and be able to earn the respect of the university community.
Conditions of Appointment
The role is a single five-year tenure, non-renewable. The terms of service will align with those offered at comparable private universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by the university’s Governing Council.
