How To Enter

All you need is a device with internet, some confidence, and the steps below.

  1. Go to the MTN mPulse website
  2. Click the Spelling Bee banner
  3. Register or log in as a student
  4. Take the Practice Test as often as you want
  5. When you feel ready, start the Entry Stage

It’s straightforward. The practice tests help you prep before the real thing.

What Are the Competition Stages?

The spelling bee isn’t just one random test. It goes like this:

  • Round 1: 10 spelling questions
  • Round 2: 20 spelling questions

If you smash both, you just might find yourself heading to one of the regional events in Ibadan, Enugu or Abuja.

And if you make it even further? Then comes the Grand Finale — a live event in Lagos, streamed for all to see. No pressure, right?

Extra Notes (Don’t Skip)

  • Make sure you’re the one doing the registration. MTN won’t accept entries from parents or guardians pretending to be students.
  • You must be on the mPulse plan by the time you reach the top 20.
  • Everything is done online, until the regional and final rounds.
  • You can start practicing right now. No one’s stopping you.

You can find more info on the official spelling bee page.

So, Are You In?

Look, if you love spelling and don’t mind standing out a bit, why not try? At worst, you learn a few new words. At best? You walk away with money, a laptop and maybe a new title as MTN’s one-day CEO.

No harm in giving it a shot. And who knows? It might be your name everyone’s cheering at the finals in Lagos. Oya, start spelling!
