Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) Announces Resumption Dates for 2025/2026 Fresh and Returning Students

The Senate of Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) has released the official dates for the resumption and registration of both newly admitted and returning students for the 2025/2026 academic session. The announcement followed an emergency Senate meeting held on Monday, 3 November 2025, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza, at the main campus.

According to the Senate’s decision, registration for newly admitted students will start on Monday, 17 November 2025, and close on Monday, 1 December 2025. Returning students will begin registration on Monday, 1 December 2025, and complete it by Monday, 15 December 2025.

Academic Calendar and Expectations at NWUS

Professor Bunza explained that NWUS is committed to upholding an academic calendar that promotes timely commencement and smooth completion of learning activities. He urged all students to follow the approved registration schedule closely, adding that late registration will not be accepted.

The Vice Chancellor confirmed that preparations were in progress to ensure a supportive environment for learning and research as students return to campus. He encouraged students to make use of available resources and uphold the standards of discipline and commitment the university is known for.

Commitment to Quality Learning and Community Support

Professor Bunza praised the staff and management for their hard work and dedication to academic progress. He highlighted that NWUS continues to pursue its vision of developing graduates with strong academic foundations and practical skills to contribute meaningfully to society.

He also appreciated Senator Wamakko for his consistent support and contributions to the growth of the university, stating that his encouragement has helped NWUS achieve notable progress within a short time.

In his closing remarks, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed that NWUS remains focused on maintaining academic excellence and ensuring a productive learning experience for all students as the new session begins.
