Are you not sure what to do next? Here are steps and handy links to help.

Before You Go: What to Do

1. Print Your Call-Up Letter

Get your NYSC Call-Up Letter online. This paper tells you where to go and what to bring. Do not wait till the last minute.

2. Check Camp Requirements

Make a checklist before you leave. See the camp registration requirements so you do not forget anything.

3. Know Your Camp Location

Find the list of NYSC camp addresses and double-check your posting. Do not mix up states or camps.

What to Take to Camp

  • Your Call-Up Letter and a copy
  • School certificates (original and copies)
  • Passport photos
  • Personal ID card
  • Needed clothes and items for camp life

For Foreign-Trained Graduates

Bring your international passport and all original papers. No shortcuts here. If you are not sure what counts as “original,” pack everything you think you might need.

Travel Tips and Staying Safe

Do not travel after dark. If the sun sets and you are not at your camp yet, stay at a police or army barracks, NYSC Secretariat, Corps Lodge, or a trusted spot. It is not wise to risk the road at night in Nigeria.

Parents, talk to your children about safety. Always use taxis or buses from known, government-approved parks. Avoid hopping into random cars.

Special Notes for Certain Corps Members

If You Are Married, Pregnant, or Nursing

If you are a married woman or nursing mum posted away from your husband’s state, you can go to the camp nearest to your husband. Bring all needed marriage or health papers.

For Polytechnic Graduates

Mono or polytechnic graduates must show their ND certificate at camp. Do not forget your school documents.

Avoid Problems

Never use fake papers. If caught, you will face the law. It is not worth the trouble.

If you lose your Call-Up Letter, follow the NYSC guidelines to get a new one.

Read your Call-Up Letter well. Every instruction there matters. Missing a rule might land you in hot water.

If you do not report for service or you bring fake papers, you risk legal trouble. Know this before making a move you will regret.
