UMYU Matriculation Ceremony 2024/2025 Holds on 19 May

Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has officially announced the date for the matriculation ceremony for all students newly admitted into the 2024/2025 academic session. This is a major event where new students are formally welcomed into the university community.

Every matriculating student is expected to attend and follow the steps below to prepare properly.

Know the date, time, and venue of the event

  • Date: Monday, 19 May 2025
  • Venue: University Auditorium, UMYU Campus
  • Who should attend: All newly admitted students for the 2024/2025 session

The university invites students, staff, and the general public to be part of the ceremony.

Collect your matriculation gown early

Each student must collect an academic gown from their Faculty Officer. To do this, you need to:

  • Pay a fee of ₦500
  • Show your payment receipt to your Faculty Officer
  • Collect the gown between now and Friday, 16 May 2025

Gowns must be returned after the event as directed by your faculty.

Complete and sign your matriculation oath form

Every new student must also collect a Matriculation Oath Form, fill it, and bring it to the venue on the day of the ceremony. The oath will be signed on-site during the event.

This step is part of the university’s official registration process and must be completed before your student status is confirmed.

Prepare and attend on time

You should:

  • Dress neatly and arrive early at the auditorium
  • Wear the academic gown over formal wear
  • Bring your completed oath form
  • Follow all instructions given by university officials
