Police Recruitment Aptitude Test 2026

The Police Service Commission has fixed 28 to 30 April 2026 for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test in the ongoing police recruitment exercise. The test will take place across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

This stage follows the nationwide physical and credentials screening, which is billed to end on 18 April 2026. For many applicants, this is the next clear step; the timetable is now set.

Police fixed 28 to 30 April for the CBT test

The dates were announced for candidates in the current recruitment process. The Computer-Based Aptitude Test will run nationwide within the three-day window.

A statement issued on Thursday by the Sokoto State Police Command carried the update. Ahmad Rufa’i, the Police Public Relations Officer, said the CBT is a deciding stage in the exercise.

He said the test is meant to ensure that only suitably qualified candidates are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force.

Test schedule will vary by state

The length of the test in each state will depend on two things: the number of candidates and the number of working CBT centres.

That means some states may finish the exercise in one day. Others may need the full three-day period.

The arrangement leaves room for local conditions; each State will work within the same national window, but the daily pattern may differ.

Candidates should wait for venue and shortlist details

Applicants have been asked to remain calm and wait for more information on venue allocation and the official list of successful candidates.

The message was plain. Candidates should stay patient and rely on official channels for fresh details.

That includes updates on test venues and the list of shortlisted applicants.

Police warned against misinformation

The police also warned candidates to ignore false updates. It said all information about the exercise will be released through verified platforms.

For applicants, that point matters. A wrong message can send a person to the wrong place, or leave him chasing news that was never real in the first place.

Recruitment exercise is part of a wider plan

The ongoing recruitment exercise is part of efforts to strengthen the manpower and operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.

The command also provided a dedicated contact line for public enquiries.

What this means for applicants

The sequence is now clear. Physical and credentials screening is billed to end on 18 April 2026; the aptitude test follows from 28 to 30 April 2026.

Candidates do not yet have venue details or the official shortlist. Those updates are expected through approved channels, and applicants are expected to wait for them.
